During law school, I completed a portion of my studies in Rome, Italy. Also at that time, I clerked for the Honorable John R. Padova, United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. I have also previously clerked in both the General Counsel’s Office for Temple University, and the General Counsel’s Office for the National Security Agency.
Prior to attending law school, I served on active duty in the United States Air Force as an intelligence analyst, and thereafter served in the Air Force Reserve until retirement in 2018, with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

During law school, I served as a law clerk in the general counsel’s office of the Santa Rosa start-up Arterial Vascular Engineering (which is now Medtronic). Before that, I worked in smaller law offices in various capacities.
While earning my law degree at University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, I completed a portion of my legal studies at the University of Salzburg (Austria) in 1999 with visiting professor, then United States Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy.
